Since 2005, the Comedy Club 4 Kids has been getting the best stand-ups, sketch acts and cabaret stars from the international circuit to do their thing for an audience of children (aged 6+) and their families… but without the rude bits! Almost 20 years later, the company has expanded from one London residency to being countrywide, running shows and workshops all over the UK from Peebles to Portsmouth, even producing a book on how to write and perform stand-up, and hosting our own Radio Nonsense podcast to bring the siillies to families all over the world. The show is family friendly, but without any patronising idiocy. In fact, it’s just like a normal comedy club, but it’s on in the day, kids are allowed in, and thus there is a higher than usual chance of the entire audience claiming to be called Bob.

Suitable for ages 6+.

Adults to sit with children in their party (and help explain anything they get stuck on).

Group bookings to contain at least one adult for every three kids.

Joe Sutherland

With a caustic, catty wit and unapologetic confidence, Joe has taken the UK comedy circuit by storm, and the circuit liked the change in weather.

After being selected for the Pleasance Comedy Reserve in 2015, Joe made his solo Edinburgh Fringe debut in 2017 with MODEL/ACTRESS, which gained numerous 4-star reviews and featured in the Telegraph’s ‘Best one-liners of the Fringe 2017’.

In 2018 he staged his second Edinburgh Fringe hour of razor-sharp comedy, TOXIC, a show about masculinity, gender, veganism and other millennial keywords. It was ranked as the 9th best reviewed show of the whole festival. That’s out of quite a few shows. Like, more than twelve.

Also working as an actor and writer, Joe has been seen in the movie Pride and written for really cool publications that you probably haven’t heard of… and a lols show about gay parents called Raised by Queers.

Shelf

Comedy double-act Shelf are Ruby and Rachel. Have you picked a favourite yet? Which one? I thought as much.

Unusual among comedy double-acts for sharing a name with the most basic of storage facilities, Shelf are South London’s finest sketch act and dog impersonators. Captivatingly silly and ever engaging, Rachel Watkeys Dowie and Ruby Clyde delight in twisty reveals and playful honesty.
Since their formation in 2015, Shelf have performed at Bestival, London Pride, and been nominated for Sketchfest’s Best New Act award. Their work has appeared on BBC3 and LADBible, and they are founding members of cult sell-out shows The LOL Word and ACMS.
“…cool and relevant” (The Skinny)
“What makes their show really stand out is the crackling chemistry between their on stage personae” (the broad uk)
“Everything they do is organic and fresh…the audience is given permission to join in with their friendship: they let us in to their lives, flaunting their flaws and thus showcasing their qualities. Their honesty encourages laughing along and their comic timing ensures it” (Daily Info)

Keith Farnan

A former solicitor, Keith has the natural ability to delve into themes other comics may shy away from and it is this aptitude that is placing him in the lead of investigative comedians. He has been a regular guest on radio, both in Ireland and the UK, from BBC, RTE, Talk Sport, Today FM, Newstalk and all sorts of other warm and welcoming studios.

Keith Farnan has performed as a stand-up all over the world, from Montreal, to Amsterdam, to Hong Kong.

His television credits include BBC3’s Most Annoying People, One Night Stand (BBC), Liffey Laughs (RTE) and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC1).

He has also written for and performed in The Insomniac Club for BBC Radio as well as appearing on Loose Ends and Colin Murphy’s Great Unanswered Questions (BBCNI).
