St Mary’s are delighted to launch the first of three “Ideas Exchange” events this academic year.  The Ideas Exchange is a series of quick-fire lectures from a range of top academics. Each thought-provoking talk is only eight minutes long (or short) and will usually cover a wealth of topics from media, politics and history to sport, emotions and science!  This event however is a special football takeover. The line-up will include a diverse panel of guest speakers from different coaching and sport science backgrounds within the football industry. The purpose of the day will be to problematise some of the contemporary issues and trends within the game and offer collaborative solutions to inform practice.

We are pleased to confirm Ben Bartlett, Head of Coaching for Fulham FC will be delivering a talk.  Ben is an experienced UEFA Pro-Licence and MSc qualified coach and coach developer with a wealth of experience within national teams, professional football clubs and youth development.  He led on significant aspects of the recent coach education pathway restructure.

Ben will be joined by Andy Joslin, Fulham FC U15-16 Academy Coach.  Andy started coaching in 2010 and has spent 4 seasons working in the youth development phase, operating across the U14-16 age groups.  He has completed his UEFA A Licence and an advanced youth award (YDP).
