‘Under the Fig Trees’ depicts one working day in the lives of fig pickers. In this quiet, lyrical film we observe a group of mainly young people: how they flirt, conspire , gossip and exchange meaningful glances from under the trees beneath the dazzling Tunisian sun . An acclaimed debut feature film from Erige Sehiri who has utilised a talented group of non-professional actors to produce a quietly beguiling piece of observational storytelling.12 December 2023 @ 8:00 pm
