France (2017)

Filmmaker Agnes Varda joins forces with JR, a street artist and photographer, to roam the French countryside in his van. No ordinary van, it contains a camera capable of producing extraordinary photos to the delight and surprise of those who venture inside it !

There will be a short Members’ EGM at 8:00pm on 2 April, prior to the screening of ’Faces Places’. Please note that, as a result, the screening will commence 15 minutes later than usual at around 8:15pm (and end at around 9:50). Although there is no objection to non-members attending, they are kindly requested to wait in the bar or café area until the conclusion of the meeting. Rest assured that ample time will be allowed for everyone to take their seats before the screening commences.

About Richmond Film Society

Richmond Film Society was formed in 1963 and has since screened over 780 films. Our World Cinema seasons run from September to April and attract an aggregate audience of well over 2,000 attendees. The current season is to be extended by five films, with details to follow.

Films are shown at 8.00pm sharp on alternate Tuesdays (no trailers and no ads) and are screened at The Exchange. On screening nights, the Bar is open from 7.00pm and remains open after the film. Drinks can be taken into the auditorium and coffee, tea and snacks are also available. Film notes are provided for each screening and audience feedback is obtained via response slips.
